The variety belongs to the "dwarf" hop type (hedge hop), adapted for cultivation on low trellises approximately 2.5 meters high, which allows for the mechanization of the harvesting process. The variety is related to the Pioneer variety.
The plant has dual-purpose properties, providing both bitterness and aroma. The alpha-acid content is 9–13%, beta-acid content 4.5–5.5%, and total oil content varies from 1.0 to 1.9 ml/100 g. Cohumulone accounts for 35–37% of the alpha-acids.
The flavor and aroma profile includes clean bitterness and distinct citrus notes, in particular grapefruit and orange. It is used in brewing for making ales, including IPA and pale ales.
