The variety is an old local type from the Hallertau region that originated naturally without the use of artificial crossbreeding. It belongs to early or mid-early varieties and forms small and relatively loose cones.

The plant possesses low resistance to diseases such as verticillium wilt, downy mildew, and powdery mildew, and is also characterized by low tolerance to climate changes. The alpha-acid content in the raw material is low and ranges from 3.0–5.5%.

The variety is valued for its delicate aroma with distinct spicy, floral, and herbal notes. The name "Hueller Mittelfrueher" in open sources is not official and is considered an erroneous designation for the Hallertauer Mittelfrüher variety, associated with the work of the Hüll research center.
