The variety was bred at the research center in Hüll (Germany). It was originally intended for use in tea production; however, thanks to its unique chemical composition, it found application in brewing to impart subtle aromatic characteristics.

Breeders achieved resistance to diseases, including under conditions of climatic stress. The variety is characterized by a low alpha-acid content of 0.3–5.0% and a high beta-acid content in the range of 7–15%.

The aromatic profile includes notes of cornflowers, alpine meadows, lemongrass, hibiscus, lavender, rose, cognac, woody undertones, and lychee. When using dry hopping, pronounced notes of fresh honeydew melon appear in the beer.
