The plant is a shrub 1.2–1.5 m tall with sturdy shoots having a characteristic fan-shaped growth habit. Leaves are oblong, narrowly ovate, dark green with a reddish tint.
Inflorescences consist of fertile and a small number of sterile flowers. The flowering period lasts from June to September. The variety shows good winter hardiness and resistance to diseases, prefers slightly acidic or neutral drained soils.
The compact size allows the variety to be used for solitary and group plantings, creating hedges, as well as growing it in containers.
