The variety is classified as late-winter, with a fruit consumption period lasting from October to March–April. The tree is characterized by a late start to the growing season and good winter hardiness, although it may be susceptible to canker in cold and wet soil conditions.

Fruits are of medium size, flattened in shape, and have a very short, thick stalk. The skin is light green, covered with a red-orange blush or wine-red stripes with characteristic russeting. The flesh is yellowish, firm, and becomes juicy and aromatic as it ripens.

The variety is a versatile table and dessert type, suitable for culinary processing. Due to the decorative qualities of the crown and late flowering, it is used in landscape gardening.
