The tree is vigorous with a wide crown. The fruits are medium-sized, round or flat, and often asymmetrical. A characteristic feature is the dry, rough skin with a coating of grey-brown russeting. The ground color of the apples is greenish-yellow, and a dull brownish-red blush is possible upon ripening. The flesh is greenish-white, juicy, and tender.
The variety is classified as winter; harvest maturity of the fruits occurs in mid-October, and consumption maturity lasts from December to March. Fruiting is biennial. The tree is sufficiently resistant to scab and canker, however, under adverse weather conditions or on dry soils, it is prone to fruit drop and cracking.
