The tree is vigorous in its youth, becoming moderate over time, and forms a broad, flat, spreading crown. The variety is triploid and cannot serve as a pollinator for other apple trees. Yield is prone to periodicity, requiring regular pruning and fruit thinning.

Fruits are large or very large, weighing about 220 g, often flat or round in shape. The skin is dry, covered with russeting, and the ground color is greenish-yellow. The flesh is yellowish-white, fine-grained, and moderately juicy. In storage, the fruits may become slightly dry and mealy.

The variety is relatively resistant to scab and powdery mildew, but may be affected by fruit tree canker on heavy soils and is prone to bitter pit. The wood is not fully winter hardy. Fruits hold well on the branches until harvest maturity, after which heavy fruit drop is possible.
