The tree is vigorous and powerful. The variety is a triploid, which determines the need for pollinator varieties and its low effectiveness as a pollinator for other trees. The variety is sensitive to severe frosts, demanding of soil moisture, and needs protection from the wind. Disease resistance is assessed as low.

The fruits are medium to large in size, round-ovoid in shape, and often ribbed or asymmetrical. The skin is thin, waxy, and yellow-green with red stripes or spots. The flesh is yellowish-white, very juicy, tender, with a characteristic aroma and a sweet-tart taste.

The variety belongs to the summer or early autumn group; ripening begins from the end of August or the beginning of September and is characterized by unevenness. The keeping quality of the fruits is low; they overripen quickly and are prone to damage. There is a clone «Red Gravenstein» with a more pronounced red coloration.
