The variety belongs to the grey rennet group, although its exact origin remains unknown. Researchers suggest that it may be either an independent local variety or one of the "lost" varieties of the 19th century.

The fruits have the shape of a tall sphere or a rounded cone, often flattened at the base. At harvest, they have a cold green ground color, which transitions to greenish-yellow, while almost the entire surface is covered with greyish-brown or light-brown russeting with visible lenticels.

The fruit flesh is firm, varies from greenish-white to light yellow, and becomes looser over time. Harvest maturity occurs around October 15; the trees are long-lived and can reach an age of up to 100 years.
