The rootstock belongs to semi-dwarfing types, providing trees with 60–75% of the height of those on seedling rootstocks, which corresponds to 3.5–4.2 meters. Trees grafted onto it enter fruiting early, usually in the 4–5th year, and do not require permanent support at maturity.

The plant possesses resistance to woolly apple aphid but shows high sensitivity to Phytophthora root and crown rot; therefore, it requires sites with good drainage. It is also sensitive to fire blight and tomato ringspot virus. It is relatively winter hardy, although young plants may suffer from early winter frosts.
