M.16 is a vegetatively propagated clonal rootstock that is not intended for fruit production. It is characterized by very strong vigor, promoting the development of large trees reaching 4–5 meters in height or more.

This rootstock has good winter hardiness and ensures a stable crown shape. Due to its vigor, trees on M.16 enter the fruiting period later than those on dwarf rootstocks, and they are more often used for creating trellis systems or low-density orchards.
