The variety is one of the oldest representatives of English folk selection, mentioned in literature since the beginning of the 17th century. Under the name Parmain d’Angleterre and its numerous synonyms, various similar local forms could have been described in historical pomology, which leads to variability in characteristics.

The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and a regular crown shape. The variety belongs to the winter maturity group. The fruits have firm yellowish flesh with a sweet-and-sour taste and are suitable both for dessert consumption and for culinary processing.

The plant possesses high hardiness and the ability to grow in light soils. Currently, the variety is not an industrial standard and is preserved mainly as part of genetic resource collections.
