The tree is medium-sized, forming a highly rounded, broadly pyramidal or spreading crown. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness of the wood and flowers, and is suitable for cultivation in cold, windy and high-mountain regions. On heavy soils, the tree may be susceptible to bark canker and dieback of the tips, and has moderate susceptibility to scab and powdery mildew.

Fruits are small or medium-sized, about 95–100 g, high barrel-shaped or elongated-ovate in form, often with flat sides. The skin is smooth, yellow-green when ripe with a red blush and light dots. The flesh is yellowish-white, juicy, with a pleasant aroma. The variety enters bearing relatively early, but yields can be biennial.

Autumn variety, harvest maturity occurs in September, consumer maturity lasts until January-February. Fruits are universal: they are used as table apples for fresh consumption and for processing into juices and other products. Traditionally grown in private gardens and as part of mixed plantings.
