The rootstock provides restrained tree growth, reaching 60–75% of the size of trees on seedling rootstocks. Plants enter fruiting 3–5 years after grafting and show stable yields. It is characterized by a developed root system, although the trees are prone to leaning and may require support in the first years, and it actively forms root suckers.
This rootstock is relatively drought tolerant and adapts to various soil types, including heavy and wet ones. It possesses good resistance to fire blight and collar rot, but is relatively susceptible to woolly apple aphid. Root winter hardiness is estimated as average at air temperatures below -25...-27°C without snow cover.
