The Lizzy rootstock, also known as P.16, was bred as a specialized root system for grafted cultivated apple varieties. Parent forms mentioned in literature include combinations of the varieties Longfield and M.11, or M.9 and Antonovka obyknovennaya.
The plant possesses a very high degree of dwarfing and high fruiting efficiency. Due to its characteristics, this rootstock is recognized as a promising material for use in intensive horticulture.
