The M.25 rootstock provides high tree vigor, with trees reaching a height of 6 meters or more, acquiring the characteristics of a standard apple tree. Fruiting of grafted varieties usually begins in the 5–6th year after planting.
The plant has a powerful root system and high adaptability to adverse conditions, including wet and windy sites, as well as poor soils. Trees on this rootstock are characterized by good resistance to lodging due to vigorous growth and strong anchorage in the soil.
