The rootstock is the result of breeding work at the institute in Dresden-Pillnitz. It is characterized by good anchorage and a high capacity for layering propagation.
In terms of tree vigor for scions grafted onto this rootstock, it is similar to M.26 but exceeds it in productivity. At the same time, the variety possesses high sensitivity to fire blight.
