Variety description

10 August 2026

This variety is a key representative of the Malling rootstock group. It is used exclusively for grafting apple varieties, allowing for the cultivation of compact trees, which facilitates harvesting and crown maintenance.

The plant has a pronounced dwarfing effect. Its root system is weakly developed and is located in the top soil layer up to 30 cm, which is why the trees require the mandatory installation of supports or trellises and regular watering. The rootstock is resistant to woolly apple aphid, fire blight, and crown rot.

The use of this rootstock promotes early onset of fruiting of the scion and also has a positive effect on the size and color of the fruits. In horticulture, a number of modern clones have been developed based on it, such as PAJAM and M9 T337.
