The variety was obtained by crossing «Ananas Reinette» and «Ribston Pippin». Fruits are medium-sized, round or round-flattened, ribbed. The skin is yellowish-green with a red blush, which becomes more intense in the «Roter Berlepsch» mutation. The flesh is cream-colored, juicy, fine-grained, with a sweet-and-sour taste.

The tree reaches a height of 6–8 meters and has an upright, broad crown. It is a winter variety, ready for harvest in mid-autumn; the flavor qualities develop after a month of storage, and the shelf life is up to 4 months. Used for fresh consumption, baking, and juice production.

Trees are prone to alternate bearing and are sensitive to spring frosts, drought, as well as sulfur and copper preparations. The variety is susceptible to apple canker and fire blight. Prefers fertile, well-drained soils and warm growing locations.
