The variety is of folk origin and has traditionally been grown in the Swedish provinces of Scania and Blekinge. It is included in the national program for the preservation of cultural heritage, and samples are stored in the Swedish National Gene Bank.
The apple fruits are almost round in shape, light golden-yellow in color, and covered with small russet dots. The variety is characterized by an October fruit ripening period, a short shelf life, and winter hardiness zone 4.
