Deciduous tree with vigorous growth and a broadly rounded or upright crown, reaching a height of about 8 meters with a crown width of up to 7 meters. The leaves are dark green, oval or elliptical in shape with a serrated edge, up to 11 cm long. Flowering occurs in late spring with pink buds opening into fragrant white flowers.
Fruits are up to 5 cm in diameter, red-purple in color with a bluish waxy bloom. The variety is culinary and ornamental; the fruits ripen by November and are suitable for use in November-December. The tree prefers well-lit areas and well-drained soils, including loams, sandy and chalky soils, and is characterized by resistance to diseases.
