The rootstock was obtained as a result of hybridization of the varieties Malling 27 (M.27) and Robusta 5. It is intended for use in commercial and amateur orchards, produces practically no root suckers, and is distinguished by good productivity.
The plant possesses high resistance to diseases, including soil replant disease. Due to a tendency for brittleness at the graft union, the rootstock requires the mandatory installation of a support or trellis, especially in the first years of tree growth, to protect against breakage during strong winds.
