The variety is a spontaneous somatic mutation of the Golden Delicious variety. It belongs to the spur type, which results in a compact tree structure with shortened internodes and an abundance of spurs. Young trees have a narrow-pyramidal crown, which becomes broadly-pyramidal with age.
The variety belongs to the winter group; fruits ripen in late September or early October. Apples have a round-conical or oblong shape, golden-yellow color, and sweet taste. Trees are characterized by regular yield, and are prone to scab and fruit russeting under high humidity.
