The rootstock was obtained at the breeding station in Těchobuzice (Czech Republic) using winter-hardy local forms and British M-series rootstocks. In terms of growth vigour, it is close to the M9 rootstock and accounts for approximately 29% of the growth vigour of trees on seedling rootstocks.
The root system of the rootstock is brittle, which requires the mandatory use of support structures for the trees. During propagation, it is characterized by a high yield of layers; however, in a permanent location, it may form a significant amount of root suckers.
The plant is demanding regarding soil fertility and nutrient content. The rootstock is intended for creating intensive plantings with low crowns of the "slender spindle" type.
