The Jonakap cultivar, also known as Jonagold De Jager I, is a vegetatively propagated form of the Jonagold cultivar. It was selected during breeding work for improved fruit coloration intensity.
In comparative trials, Jonakap is classified as a bright red mutant, similar in fruit characteristics to the Wilmuta cultivar. Tree characteristics generally correspond to the original Jonagold cultivar, on the rootstock of which the sapling is grown.
