The rootstock is a clone of Malus M9 and is used for establishing intensive orchards. Plants grafted onto this rootstock enter the fruiting stage early, often as soon as the 2nd or 3rd year, and are characterized by high yield efficiency.
Due to a weak root system and dwarf growth habit, trees on this rootstock require constant support in the form of trellises or stakes throughout their life. The rootstock is demanding of growing conditions, requiring fertile soils, regular irrigation, and high-quality agricultural practices.
Regarding diseases and pests, the rootstock exhibits resistance to Phytophthora root rot; however, it is susceptible to fire blight and woolly apple aphid. It possesses low winter hardiness and requires special attention to the agronomic background in cold climates.
