The rootstock provides trees with a size of 35–40% of vigorous counterparts and is characterized by early bearing. Due to the insufficient anchorage of the root system, plants grafted onto this rootstock require mandatory support.
In agricultural practice, the rootstock shows high sensitivity to drought and hot conditions, requiring mandatory irrigation. Also noted is high susceptibility to fire blight and woolly apple aphid, as well as a tendency to form tumor-like growths in the root collar zone.
With excessive fruiting of young trees, a slowing of growth activity is observed, which makes crop regulation via fruit thinning necessary. In a number of cases, the use of the rootstock is limited due to the instability of tree development in the orchard.
