The Aroma variety was obtained by crossing Ingrid Marie and Filippa. Röd Aroma is a natural red mutation discovered in 1982. The tree is of the medium-vigour type. The variety is used as a dessert apple and is characterized by resistance to scab.
The consumption period for the fruits is September–December. The apples are medium-sized, with a yellow-green background and a bright red blush covering most of the fruit. The yellowish-white flesh has a pronounced aroma.
