The variety was bred at the Balsgård Department of Horticultural Plant Breeding in Sweden. The tree has moderate vigor and can reach a height of about 2.5 meters when trained.
The fruits ripen in August and are characterized by crisp, juicy flesh with a sweet-and-sour taste. The variety is not intended for long-term storage.
There are varieties of other crops with the same name, in particular a columnar sweet cherry, as well as an apple variety "Silva," with which confusion is possible.
