The rootstock was obtained in the breeding program of the Fruit Research Institute in Voinesti, Romania. Genetically, it is a hybrid of the M.4 and Cretesc varieties.
It is used exclusively as a rootstock for grafting apple trees. It is characterized by the ability to induce very vigorous growth of the scion, for which reason it is not recommended for intensive orchard cultivation.
