Variety description

The variety was obtained by selecting seedlings from a maternal Frantoio plant with the participation of a paternal Ascolana Tenera form. The plant is characterized by low vigor, a compact canopy with drooping branches, and reaches a height of 3–4 meters by the age of ten, which allows for its use in intensive plantings.
The fruits are spherical in shape, have a weight of 2.5–4 g, and turn wine-red upon ripening. The variety is oil-bearing and is characterized by self-fertility and stable yields. It is resistant to various soil and climatic conditions, withstands temperature drops down to -10°C, and is adapted to mechanical harvesting.
