Variety description

The tree is of medium to large size with vertically oriented branches and a dense crown. The fruits are small or medium in size, weighing from 2 to 5 g, and have an oval or ellipsoidal shape. Upon reaching maturity, the fruits turn an intense black-violet color.
The variety enters production early, however, the yield is characterized by periodicity. The fruits ripen in the mid-season and hold firmly to the branches, which complicates mechanized harvesting. Upon full ripening, fruit drop may be observed.
The variety possesses resistance to Verticillium wilt and fungal infections of the 'peacock eye' type, but is susceptible to the olive fruit fly, scale insects, olive knot, and 'gafa' fungus. The trees tolerate drought well, but are sensitive to low temperatures, excess lime, and high soil salinity.
It is used for olive oil production and as table olives. The oil yield is 18–22 percent; it is characterized by high stability, low linoleic acid content, and characteristic notes of apple and almond.
