Galega Meuda trees are distinguished by high vigor and an upright canopy shape. The leaves are elliptical-lanceolate. The fruits are small, weighing less than 2 grams, with an asymmetrical ovoid shape; they are characterized by a relatively heavy pit and a low flesh-to-pit ratio.
The variety is early flowering; fruit ripening occurs gradually. It is characterized by high productivity with pronounced alternate bearing. The plant is drought-tolerant but sensitive to low temperatures, soil salinity, and excess active lime.
The variety is used for oil production and table consumption. The resulting oil is distinguished by its quality and stability, however, the product yield is relatively low and usually amounts to less than 18 percent.
