Gargnà trees are characterized by their impressive size and majestic appearance of the trunk and branches. The plant blooms profusely but is sensitive to adverse weather conditions.

The oil obtained from the fruits of this variety has an intense fruity aroma with notes of fresh grass, tomato leaves, and green banana. The taste is characterized by a predominance of pungency over sweetness.

In a number of sources, the Gargnà variety is mentioned as a synonym for the Grignan variety, which is characterized by low vigor, an upright crown, and resistance to a number of diseases, while demonstrating sensitivity to the olive fruit fly.
