The name GARGNANO is used to designate olives grown in the commune of Gargnano on Lake Garda. In agronomic literature, this term is often recorded as a regional synonym for the variety Grignano. Tree characteristics include low vigor and an upright canopy type.

The variety is self-sterile and requires pollinators such as Leccino, Casaliva, Pendolino or Trepp. The fruits have an average weight of 2–3 grams and turn black-violet upon ripening. The productivity of the variety is estimated as average.

The plant possesses good resistance to low temperatures, peacock spot and olive knot, however, it shows sensitivity to the olive fruit fly. The main purpose of the fruits is the production of olive oil with a pronounced fruit profile.
