The Gamenha variety is a local Portuguese variety that belongs to folk selection and is historically cultivated in the Alentejo region. It is a rare variety, often found on very old trees aged from 200 to 800 years.

The fruits of this variety are used for producing olive oil, including in the creation of blends for extra virgin class oils. Given the rarity of the variety, information on its detailed morphological and agronomic characteristics in open sources is limited.
