The variety has a centuries-old history and is grown primarily in Central and Western Greece. The plant is characterized by strong growth vigor and a spreading crown shape when irrigated. The variety is characterized by alternate bearing.
The fruits are large, have an elliptical asymmetrical shape and a color that changes from green to dark purple and black. The flesh is firm and separates well from the pit; the skin is thin and elastic, resistant to damage and shriveling.
The variety has good winter hardiness and moderate sensitivity to drought. The name Konservolia encompasses many local types that have their own regional characteristics.
