The tree is of medium vigor, characterized by longevity and high adaptability. Leaves are flat, elliptical-lanceolate in shape. Fruits are of medium size weighing about 3–4 g, round in shape with a flat base, turning black upon ripening.
The variety is early-flowering and early-ripening, enters fruit bearing early, and has stable productivity. The plant tolerates cold well and grows in poor, highly acidic soils; however, it is susceptible to Verticillium wilt and has low tolerance to the olive fruit fly and tuberculosis.
About 80% of production is used as table olives, valued for firm flesh and ease of pitting. The remaining part is used for the production of high-quality oil with a fruity aroma and high phenol content. The fruits separate easily from the branches, which facilitates mechanized harvesting.
