The variety is classified as a table olive intended for consumption and is distinguished by a good flesh yield. It is a local folk-bred variety, distributed primarily in the province of Toledo, Spain.

Regarding pathogens, the variety shows high susceptibility to defoliation caused by Verticillium wilt and is sensitive to anthracnose. It shows moderate sensitivity to olive knot. The variety should be distinguished from other representatives of the Manzanilla group.
