Manzanilla de Jaén is a local traditional variety adapted to the conditions of the Jaén region in Andalusia. The variety is not the result of modern breeding and belongs to the Manzanilla group of olives, while representing a distinct genetic entity.

The primary purpose of the variety is olive oil production. It is used as a complementary variety in the production of oils with Protected Geographical Indication, being blended with the Picual variety to improve organoleptic properties and impart specific aromatic notes to the product.
