The variety is of Italian origin, with its center in the vicinity of Lucca. The fruits have an elongated-oval or asymmetrical shape and reach a mass of about 8 g. At the time of harvest in late September, the fruit skin is an intense green color and covered with noticeable lenticels.
The tree is distinguished by high growth vigor and a dense, semi-drooping crown. The variety is self-sterile and requires pollinators. It is characterized by regular yields and good winter hardiness, but shows sensitivity to olive knot (Pseudomonas savastanoi).
The primary use is for fresh consumption or processing, although the variety is also suitable for oil production with a yield of about 17%. The rooting of cuttings during propagation is characterized as medium.
