Variety description

10 August 2026

The San Felice olive variety originates from the Umbria region. Its cultivation is historically linked to the activities of Benedictine monks at the San Felice abbey, located in the Colli Martani mountains area, starting from the 12th century.

Trees of this variety have a majestic appearance, are characterized by high and stable productivity, as well as relative cold resistance. The resulting oil is distinguished by its elegance, finesse, and balanced taste with vegetable notes, bitterness, and pungency.

In a commercial context, the name San Felice often acts as a geographical or trade brand for olive oil. In such cases, the product may be a blend of various classic Italian varieties, such as Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo, or Casaliva.
