The variety is an autochthonous Catalan cultivar, which is considered in scientific studies to be genetically close or identical to the forms Vera del Vallès and Verdal de Manresa. The tree is characterized by a weeping crown shape and whitish leaf color, which allows for its use for ornamental purposes.

The fruits of the variety are processed to produce olive oil; the oil content is about 18%. A biological feature of this cultivar is the absence of pollen.
