The variety is intended for both high-quality oil production and pickling. The oil is characterized by an intense flavor with pronounced bitterness, pungency, and notes of fennel and dried fruits, with a high oleic acid content.

The plant belongs to androsterile varieties that do not produce viable pollen. In agronomic studies, the variety is classified by its degree of susceptibility to pathogens of the genus Colletotrichum, which cause anthracnose.

The variety has a number of synonyms, including Fina Redonda, Garriga, Vera del Vallès, and Vera Montserratina. At the same time, Salar d'Arbúcies is not a botanical variety, but rather a commercial name for the product.
