The variety has a number of synonyms, such as Vera Montserratina, Fina Redonda, Garriga, and Vera del Vallès. The tree is characterized by low vigor, which allows it to be used as a rootstock, while the variety is characterized as productive and stable in fruit-bearing.

The flowering of the variety is androsterile, which requires the presence of pollinators. The fruits ripen late and are used both for oil production and for pickling. The oil has an intense flavor with notes of fennel and green nuts, but is characterized by low stability during storage.

The variety is sensitive to a bacterial disease (olive knot) and shows moderate resistance to the olive fruit fly. The main cultivation zones are concentrated in the province of Barcelona in the Bages, Anoia, and Vallès regions.
