The variety is an ancient Greek cultivar, growing mainly on the island of Corfu, in Northern Euboea and Central Greece. The fruits belong to the large-fruited category with a weight of more than 5 g; the variety is classified as a table variety and is sometimes referred to the variety Olea europaea var. regalis.
Flowering of the variety occurs at late dates, simultaneously with the Lianolia Kerkiras and Kalamon varieties, with a low percentage of functional flowers noted. In comparative studies, the variety demonstrates high sensitivity to the pathogen Spilocaea oleagina.
This variety is actively used in genetic studies of Greek olive populations, serving as an object for studying diversity and developing molecular markers.
