The tree is characterized by vigorous growth, an upright crown shape, and dense foliage. This is a late-ripening variety: the fruits remain green for a long time, which is reflected in the name (verdeal — green). The variety is self-sterile and requires pollinators, while acting as an effective pollinator for the Cobrançosa and Madural varieties.

The plant possesses high resistance to drought and low temperatures, which allows it to be cultivated at high altitudes. The main direction of use is the production of oil, which is distinguished by an intense fruity-green aroma, high polyphenol content, and oxidative stability. The fruits can also be consumed as table olives with a firm texture.
