ActivePrunus avium (L.) L. · Sweet cherry
David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The tree is medium- or vigorous-growing, reaching 4–5 meters in height, with a broad-pyramidal, upright crown of medium density. Fruits weighing 5.3–9.7 g have a blunt-heart shape and a dark red, almost black color when ripe. The flesh is dark red, juicy, tender, and of medium density.
Early-ripening variety, entering fruiting in the 4–5th year. Possesses high immunity to coccomycosis and clasterosporiosis, as well as high winter hardiness of the tree and flower buds. In unfavorable years with excessive moisture, fruits may partially crack.
The variety is practically self-sterile and requires planting of pollinator varieties blooming at the same time, such as Revna, Tyutchevka, Raditsa, Bryanskaya rozovaya, or Ovstuzhenka.
