David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The variety was obtained by crossing seedlings 3-36 and 8-14. The tree is vigorous, reaches a height of 4–5 meters, and has a broadly pyramidal crown of medium density.
The fruits are large, weighing from 5.3 to 9.7 g, and are obtuse-heart-shaped. The skin color is dark red, becoming almost black upon full maturity. The flesh is dark red, juicy, tender, of medium density, and has a sweet taste.
The variety possesses high winter hardiness, withstanding frosts down to -30...-35°C. It has good immunity to Coccomyces hiemalis and Clasterosporium carpophilum, but is susceptible to Monilinia. Under conditions of excessive moisture, the fruits may crack.
