Plants of this group are characterized by medium-sized fruits with firm flesh and dark, almost black skin color. The taste of the berries varies from sour to sweet-and-sour. The varieties belong to late maturity groups and are for the most part self-fertile.
The appearance of trees in the Morello group can vary significantly: they can be both compact bush-like forms and trees 3–4.5 meters in height. For many representatives of this group, the presence of drooping branches is typical.
